What are the Cervical Cancer Symptoms?

Vaginal bleeding, contact bleeding or a vaginal mass may indicate the presence of malignancy. Also, moderate pain during sexual intercourse and vaginal discharge are symptoms of cervical cancer. In advanced disease, metastases may be present in the abdomen, lungs or elsewhere.

When it comes to cervical cancer, it’s best not to rely on symptoms to alert you that something may be wrong. Cervical cancer is a complicated disease that normally doesn’t produce symptoms until the cancer has spread.

CERVICAL CANCER SYMPTOMS:

1. Ongoing pelvic, leg, or back pain.

2. Leakage of urine or fecal content into the vagina because an abnormal opening has developed between the vagina and the bladder or rectum.

3. Urinary problems because of blockage of a kidney or ureter.

4. Pain during sexual intercourse.

5. Abnormal vaginal discharge containing mucus that may be tinged with blood.

6. Bleeding when something comes in contact with the cervix, such as during sexual intercourse or when you insert a diaphragm.

7. Anemia because of abnormal vaginal bleeding.

Some women will experience no symptoms, while others may have severe cervical cancer symptoms.Reporting symptoms to your doctor is the key for a proper diagnosis and treatment.In the early stages of cervical cancer, there are rarely any symptoms. Although cervical cancer can be diagnosed in its early stages by a routine Pap smear, usually no apparent symptoms would indicate cancer is present.

Then cervical cancer symptoms begin to appear.loss of appetite, weight loss, fatigue, pelvic pain, back pain, leg pain, single swollen leg, heavy bleeding from the vagina, leaking of urine from the vagina.It is important to have regular Pap test screening. If cervical cell changes progress to cervical cancer, symptoms may develop.
