Spinal Curvature – What are Spinal Curvature Causes? | Causes Of Spinal Curvature | Spinal Curvature Causes

spinal curvature deformity diseases. Scoliosis causes your spine to curve sideways and kypohosis is marked by excessive front to back curving.

Scoliosis has the appearance of uneven shoulders or hips. Kyphosis presents with a slouch or hunchback posture. Both are known to cause back pain symptoms.

The cause of adolescent scoliosis and slouching kyphosis are often unknown. And spinal curvature bracing is very often used as a form of treatment during the bone development period.

Spinal Curvature Causes:

1.Idiopathic scoliosis is scoliosis of unknown cause. Idiopathic scoliosis in adolescents is the most common type.

2.Neuromuscular scoliosis is caused by problems such as poor muscle control or muscle weakness, or paralysis due to diseases such as cerebral palsy, muscular dystrophy, spina bifida, and polio.

3.Congenital (present at birth) scoliosis is due to a problem with the formation of the spine bones (vertebrae) or fused ribs during development in the womb or early in life.

Some people may be prone to curving of the spine. Most cases occur in girls. Curves generally worsen during growth spurts. Scoliosis in infants and young children are less common, and commonly affect boys and girls equally.

There are many causes of scoliosis, including congenital spine deformities (those present at birth, either inherited or caused by the environment), genetic conditions, neuromuscular problems, and limb length inequality. Other causes for scoliosis include cerebral palsy, spina bifida, muscular dystrophy, spinal muscular atrophy, and tumors. More than 80% of scoliosis cases, however, have no known cause.
