Before the sun rises, the earth-consciousness is not yet agitated. The world has not yet entered into its daily turmoil. Nature is calm and quiet and will help you meditate. When nature is fast asleep, the animal in us or our unillumined consciousness also sleeps. At that time we are still in the world of energising and fulfilling dreams, from which reality can grow.Stretch those toes, roll that neck and crinkle up the face. Try to stretch every part of the body. Next, after the eyes are closed, begin to take long, deep, relaxing breaths.

Sit until you are struck by a clarity of intention. It comes not by chasing it down with thinking, but by stilling the mind and creating space. It may take a few minutes, or much longer. If no specific intention announces itself to you, simply commit to acting ethically and with mindfulness. That is certainly an intention that we can all practice each day.

Especially in the West, because of its present dynamic nature, there is some feeling of irritation in the cosmos or in the outer nature. These restless qualities of the world do not have to enter into you, but usually they will. When people move around, immediately their vibration enters into you, no matter where you are. The air, the light, everything around you becomes permeated with the vibration of human activity and human anxieties.

Suppose that you are in a very high state of consciousness and the seeker beside you is also in a very high state of consciousness. If ten persons meditate together and they are all in a very high state of consciousness, then it is like ten persons on one side in a tug of war against ignorance. Since ignorance is only one person, then naturally it will lose the tug of war.
