What is Object of Meditation? | Meditation Object | Object Meditation
If we discover that by acquainting our mind with a particular object our mind becomes more peaceful and virtuous, this indicates that for us that object is virtuous. If the opposite happens, for us it is a non virtuous object.Since the object of meditation is to find faith in yourself and block out the outward pressures of the world, one of the first things you will have to learn is how to focus exclusively on one object before you move onto complete ambiguity during your daily mediation practice.
Do not do this meditation practice until three hours after a meal. It’s good to meditate before a meal or in the morning before work, or in the late afternoon after work, or in the evening. Be sure you are awake and aware as you do this.Only when the object is considered as all in all, capable of bestowing upon us everything that we need, can it satisfy us fully. A partial truth is no reliable truth. A partial object is not a complete object; a one-fourth human being is not a human being.

Through the blessings of our Spiritual Guide we generate faith and confidence in our practice, and easily attain all the realizations of the stages of the path. For these reasons we need to meditate on relying upon a Spiritual Guide. We need to meditate on our precious human life to realize that we now have a special opportunity to practise Dharma. If we appreciate the great potential of this life we shall not waste it by engaging in meaningless activities.
Many people find it is easier to begin daily mediation practice by choosing an empty room in which to practice so that they are not distracted by other objects or brilliant colors while trying to focus. That is, something to meditate on. Since the chosen object in meditation, somehow, appears to be one among the many possibilities of a similar choice, the mind may hesitate to concentrate even on that object.
Why do you want me to think of this particular thing when I can have other things also which are equally good, perhaps more satisfying? Why should I drudge in an office with a given amount of salary when it is also possible for me to have a higher salary in another office? The mind will force this question of why this so called thing is your concern in meditation. In the initial stages, it is easier if you start by concentrating your mind on a selected object. Later, if you have brought over karma of spiritual practices from the past, you will yourself quickly be led to another technique that might be more appropriate to you inner nature.
