The ancient meditation techniques of Taoism encompass a wide range of practices with an aim toward cultivating a healthy body as well as an enlightened mind.

Taoist meditation is more like a sort of wisdom achieved by close observation of the things and phenomena in the world surrounding us. Such wisdom should help us go alongside with things and not against them, and is surely related to the nondoing concept and practice.The inner dissolving process is especially effective for helping individuals to become aware of their hidden motivations and enabling them to change or eliminate those that they no longer find useful, ultimately leading students to balance and harmony with themselves and with the universe around them.

Similar to Tai Chi Meditation, your body moves in order to create a synthesis with your inner state. Each side is opposing the other. All weight rests on one leg while the other is moving. One arm moves up and the other moves down. Movement is very slow and thought provoking. Your body works slowly in sync with your mind which is focused and concentrated on your breathing.

That’s your ego, or ‘emotional mind’, fighting against its own extinction by the higher forces of spiritual awareness. The last thing your ego and emotions want is to be harnessed: they revel in the day to day circus of sensory entertainment and emotional turmoil, even though this game depletes your energy, degenerates your body, and exhausts your spirit.

A person sitting with their legs crossed in the lotus position, and humming gently to themselves. But there is a whole other world of meditation practice that encourages movement as well as breathing in order to align yourself to your thoughts. Taoist Meditation is one of these practices.
