What is Hot Yoga?
Hot Yoga is a set series of 26 yoga poses, including two pranayama exercises, each of which is performed twice in a single 90 minute class. Choudhury, who was born in Calcutta, India in 1946, founded the Yoga College of India in Beverly Hills in 1974. He and his wife Rajashree were both yoga champions in India.

Recently, Choudhury was involved in a lawsuit over his attempt to copyright his series of 26 poses done in a hot room.The uneasiness experienced rapidly disappears with one’s ability to learn to breathe correctly and when one’s develops the ability to control one’s mind.
The instructor asks the class to come out of the dead man pose, or Savasna, and leads the class in a chorus of loud breathing, followed by a series of challenging stretches.As well as making your body sweat out toxins, the heat ensures your muscles are warm and relaxed, making stretching easier and safer some people find they can stretch further than they thought possible.
This practice brings such a variety of people to class. First time never done yoga folks are in the same practice as long time practitioners and teachers. Husbands and wives, parents and teenagers, all shapes and sizes all are having a challenging practice and laughing and loving it. She adds that it is a great way for new students to come to yoga, and seasoned practitioners can “enhance poses” by doing variations during the holds. Nancy Clark, general manager of Niyama Yoga, says, It’s amazing to see finding their own practice…and all incredibly joyful.
The heated studio facilitates deeper stretching, prevents injury, and relieves stress and tension. Bikram Yoga was designed to systematically stimulate and restore health to every muscle, joint and organ of the body. Participants are guided through a series of 26 postures during which the heart, lungs, circulation, muscles, brain activity and mental capacity are all affected. There are two descriptions of the 26 exercises and they are asanas and pranayama . Both of these rely on each other to deliver positive results. According to Bikram, many people only use up to 50 percent of their lung capacity, and just like any muscle, the lungs must be stretched in order to withstand holding more oxygen.

1.Choose comfortable clothes for you will be performing certain poses.
2.Bring your own mat and towel since you will be sweating profusely.
3.Drink plenty of water before and after class to prevent dehydration.
4.Don’t eat two hours before class.
Hot Yoga Benefits:
Problems of alignment, rheumatoid and osteoarthritis, diabetes, heart disease, asthma, insomnia, high and low blood pressure, and so many other medical problems have shown much improvement for so many with regular practice. How fast one advances depends completely on the individual on one’s ability, to a small extent. However a lot depends on the honest time and effort put into the practice. It has a lot to do with how “well” one performs the Bikram yoga poses. More has to do with how well one understands what one is trying to achieve, how sincerely one tries to achieve one’s goal and how supple one’s muscles and joints.
It has since branched out into several sub disciplines, each with its own unique features, albeit with common roots. Bikram yoga is a variation of yoga that is performed in a heated room. Usually, before any form of physical workout, warm up exercises are conducted to increase the body temperature and flexibility of the body.
One benefit of Bikram yoga is that it forces you to be mindful of what you eat, when you eat, and how much water you drink on a daily basis. It’s imperative that students are well hydrated before, during and after a class, and that a well-balanced meal is eaten at least one hour before a session.
